Triad Telecom strives to provide you with a safe, reliable means of communication during times of emergency. We provide Enhanced 911, also known as E911, in many markets (subject to market availability). E911 service allows the emergency call center to automatically view caller specific information, including the caller’s phone number and physical address, without the caller having to state these critical details. During times when the caller may not be able to communicate verbally, or if the call is abruptly disconnected, the E911 capability allows emergency personnel to be dispatched to the location listed on the dispatcher’s screen.
The phone number and address information the emergency call center views is the information that is registered with Triad Telecom as the physical location address on file for 911 purposes. It is imperative that you keep this information updated. Since the emergency call center will receive the address information on file with Triad Telecom via E911, that location is where emergency personnel will be dispatched. If E911 is not available in your market, the information on file is used to route your 911 call to the correct PSAP for your location.
If the local public service answering point (PSAP) is unable to display the phone number and physical address of the caller, the call is handled by the traditional 911 network and answered by a trained dispatcher at your local 911 emergency call center. “Basic 911” service may require that the caller provide both their phone number and physical address to the 911 operator. Depending on availability, you may need to provide this information when placing a 911 call.
Please note that just as regular calls do not function in the event of power outages or broadband Internet connection outages, neither will E911 nor Basic 911 services.
BEFORE YOU CAN DIAL 911, YOU MUST ACTIVATE YOUR 911 SERVICE! FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN A CHARGE OF $95 PER CALL PLACED TO 911 FROM YOUR PHONE LINE OR IP TRUNK. ALL TELEPHONE NUMBERS THAT YOU PASS AS YOUR CALLER ID MUST BE REGISTERED BEFORE YOU USE YOUR TRIAD TELECOM VoIP TELEPHONE SERVICE.
Activation is easy and it is imperative that you do so. To activate your service, fill out the contact information below. Once e911 services have been confirmed via email, you may test the activation by dialing (555)555-5555 from your Triad Telecom VoIP service. 911/E911 telephone number registrations will be billed to your account at a monthly rate of $1.50 per telephone number. You MUST register every number that you will display as your outbound caller ID/ ANI. You must register a unique telephone number for 911 emergency services for each location that utilizes your Triad Telecom VoIP telephone service.
Moving Service: Unlike older analog phone service, an advantage of VoIP service is the ability for the customer to move the equipment to a new location at anytime. Once the equipment has been moved, there is no means for Triad Telecom to know the new street address of the equipment and associated phone number if the customer fails to report this information to Triad Telecom. If you are planning to move your equipment, you must UPDATE YOUR 911 ADDRESS and test by dialing (555) 555-5555. FAIURE TO UPDATE YOUR ADDRESS MOVE WILL RESULT IN YOUR 911 CALLS BEING ROUTED TO THE PSAP AT THE OLD ADDRESS. EMERGENCY SERVICES (FIRE, POLICE, AND AMBULANCE) WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RESPOND TO YOUR NEW LOCATION. THIS COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR LOSS OF LIFE. IT IS THE CUSTOMER’S RESPONSIBILTY TO KEEP TRIAD TELECOM AWARE OF ADDRESS CHANGES.
